Majed Alsuwaidi
Managing Director, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone

majed-mngmntMajed Al Suwaidi is the Managing Director for Dubai Internet City (DIC), the MENA region’s largest ICT hub and Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ), a modern, hi-tech business hub dedicated to the growth of the global outsourcing industry.

In his capacity as MD, Majed is responsible for furthering the success of DIC and DOZ and works to ensure the effective implementation of TECOM Investments’ overarching strategy; to be a world-class developer and operator of business parks delivering maximum value to shareholders, sustaining efficiency and improving market share.

Majed has played a leading role in supporting and nourishing SMEs within DIC and he is responsible for overseeing the in5 innovation hub which aims to foster and promote entrepreneurship and innovation in order to develop a technology start-up ecosystem in Dubai. Through in5, Majed has driven the growth of the tech start-up industry in the UAE, and created a dynamic and engaging working environment for entrepreneurs from the early stages of idea creation through to the commercial launch of a product or service.

Since the establishment of DIC and DOZ in 2000 and 2007 respectively, both business parks have successfully developed prosperous ecosystems for technology and outsourcing organisations from all elements of the value chain. DIC is home to some of the top Fortune 500 companies, and is a catalyst for the growth of the IT industry in the region. Majed has played an instrumental role in the growth and development of DIC and DOZ, and has effectively implemented growth strategies to develop a distinctive business park proposition.

Prior to his current role, Majed was the Director of Business Development for DIC and DOZ where he developed and delivered the business parks’ strategy of business partner acquisition and retention.
Majed holds a Masters degree in Business Administration, and spent five years working at Emirates Airlines and as a key member of the business development team at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).



Ammar Al Malik
Director of Business Development DIC and DOZ

reem-mngmntAmmar Al Malik is the Director of Business Development for Dubai Internet City (DIC), the MENA region’s largest ICT hub and Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ), a modern, hi-tech business hub dedicated to the growth of the global outsourcing industry.

In his current role, Ammar is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, and nurturing relationships with the business parks’ existing partners. Ammar also works to ensure the effective implementation of TECOM Investments’ overarching strategy; to be a world-class developer and operator of business parks while delivering maximum value to shareholders.

Ammar joined TECOM Investments in 2005 and most recently held the position of Director of Operations at DOZ. In this role, he oversaw all of DOZ’s operations, successfully maintaining occupancy rates at a level of over 95% from 2009 to 2012. Ammar was also responsible for driving new initiatives to develop DOZ into an outsourcing industry hub, which since its inauguration in 2007, has attracted top global names including Serco BPO, Interglobe and Emirates Airlines.

Previous roles include Strategic Planning Officer for Dubai e-Government. Ammar holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Kwansei Gakiun University in Japan.


Reem Shaban
Head of Marketing

reem-mngmntReem Shaban is Head of Marketing at Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone, members of TECOM Investments. She is responsible for achieving the corporate and business objectives of the brands through the development of the strategic marketing plan and utilisation of effective communication, marketing, media and PR tools. 

As part of her role, Reem is also mandated to develop, direct and handle brand events, business partnerships, CSR projects and strategic associations. Ensuring the delivery of effective and consistent external communication that accurately represents the organisational goals.

Prior to joining Dubai Internet City, Reem Shaban was an Account Manager at Fortune Promoseven, a leading advertising and communication agency in the UAE where she developed, oversaw and implemented advertising strategies for National Commercial Bank. She has also played a key role in managing communications for Etisalat, Dubai Duty Free and L’Oreal.

Reem has been recognized for her contribution to the brands she has worked with and the industry. Under her leadership DIC received the ‘Achievement Award’ at GITEX Technology Week 2010, the leading annual ICT conference in the region. TECOM Investments also presented her with the ‘Brand Manager Award for Valuable Contribution’ in 2009 as well as the ‘Best Saving Initiative Award’ in 2010 in and NCB awarded her with the ‘Best Client Servicing Member’ in 2005.

Reem holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the Lebanese American University and is a member of its ‘Honorary Students Club’. She has taken international leadership training (ILT) courses in communication, leadership as well as productivity and strategic marketing.


Rekha Setpal
Head of Community Services

rekha-mgmtRekha Setpal is Head of Community Services, Dubai Internet City, a member of TECOM Investments. She is responsible for enhancing an industry ecosystem that nurtures entrepreneurship through thought-leadership/industry events. She is also mandated to ensure the continuity of cluster benefits and community services across the ICT business park.

Rekha brings with her rich macro-management skills and a systemic perspective on effective project development and the incubation of new business ideas. Through her decade long association with DIC, she has successfully created an enabling business environment.

Rekha joined DIC as Partner Relations Manager in 2001. As part of her role, she was required to oversee account management, business excellence, and project management.

Prior to joining Dubai Internet City, Rekha held various challenging positions in both the public and private sector. Her longest tenure has been with Etisalat, where in her capacity as the Logistics Support Officer she successfully managed the portfolios of customer service and special projects.

Rekha is a member of TECOM Investments’ Partner Development Management (PDM) Committee that works towards creating a value proposition and competitive advantage for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and multinationals.
Rekha holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the American Global International University in Miami.
