A Dubai Internet City team visited Malaysia this month to conduct a benchmarking study that compared its services and initiatives with those of the Multimedia Super Corridor. The four-member DIC team was led by Malek Al Malek, Director of Partner Relations.

The benchmarking study is part of an ongoing Dubai Internet City programme where it seeks to exchange knowledge and compare its customer service and industry initiatives with those of other leading technology business parks around the world.

“We are committed to ensure that Dubai Internet City’s services are among the best in the world and this benchmarking study conducted with the Multimedia Super Corridor will help us further refine our customer service in tune with the demands of the international marketplace,” said Jamal Abdulsalam, Executive Director, Dubai Internet City.

The benchmarking study explored various services like customer interaction, business support services and specialised services for the industry. Apart from this, various quality factors were also studied. During the visit, the DIC team also studied the MSC’s various projects such as the Malaysia Debt Venture (MBD).

“The Multimedia Super Corridor is very similar to Dubai Internet City in its vision and its objectives,” said Malek Al Malek, Director of Partner Relations. “Our development has also followed a similar path and this benchmarking study was extremely useful in mutually learning from our experiences and approaches to provide exceptional services to our customers,” he added.
Last year, Dubai Internet City launched a new quality programme to raise standards of service delivery to international levels. It has developed a strategic blueprint for excellence that details its long-term vision and strategy to meet and exceed international benchmarks.
In what was praised as a 'significant achievement' by Auditors from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance Ltd, Dubai Internet City and five of its sister organisations achieved the internationally recognised ISO 9001:2000 certification, in November 2005, that now confirms that it complies with its requirements for a Quality Management System.
