Dubai Internet City kicked off its fun filled annual CyberFest Event 2008 on Sunday, 17th February, a four-day cuisine and entertainment festival, inspired by Dubai Shopping Festival’s (DSF) theme of ‘One World, One Family, One Festival’. Cascading the DSF fervor into the free zone community, the DIC annual extravaganza brings a rich mix of fun, food, prizes and variety entertainment.

The Dubai Internet City annual fun filled CyberFest event is held at the DIC amphitheatre between noon and 3.00pm until Wednesday, 20 February.
In its 4th year running, the event is sponsored by ‘Hayya’ fitness club and Puma and is co-sponsored by XL Restaurant, Gazebo Restaurant, Subway, Labneh & Zaatar, Maria Bonita and Masala who are all located within the IT cluster.
A live performance by Dubai Police Orchestra and other musical groups and artistes provided a fitting start to the celebrations. Highlights of the first day included Hayya Fitness’s Slim Fit workouts, a musical play staged by Scenez group and a performance from the Traditional Band 3. The festivities will continue on Monday (February 18) with the Traditional Band 4, followed by performances by Xtremer, Band and the Latino pop singer and TV star Tatiana. Tuesday (February 19) will feature a number of solo musicians and two performances by the Traditional Bands, as well as a fitness session by Hayya. The clown and balloon twister show is scheduled for Wednesday (February 20).
As part of the “Al-Anamil Al-Waa’ida” program developed by Al-Khansa school for girls in Dubai, DIC provided the talented and promising students an opportunity to display and sell 15 paintings in the CyberFest event; in which the school donates all proceeds to the “Dubai Autism Centre”.
The event was inaugurated by Ibrahim Saleh, COO of Dubai Shopping Festival, Majed Al-Suwaidi, Director of Sales, DIC and Mohamed Ahmed, Partner Relations Manager, DIC.
Offering daily attractions such as non-stop music, entertainment, competitions, giving away prizes, as well as restaurants providing a wide array of culinary delights, the DIC festival is anticipated to receive many visitors over the four-day period.
