Dubai Internet City participated at the IDC Middle East CIO Summit Press Conference that was held today at the Shangri-la hotel. DIC’s presence looked to support the need to reassess the role of the CIO in the region in accordance with vast growth rates of the ICT sector in the market.

The IDC CIO-Summit will be the first-ever of its kind to be held in the Middle East between 16-17 March at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.

Among a number of high-level industry leaders who are also DIC Business Partners including Dell, Samsung, IBM, Blackberry, Intel, Cisco and Trend Micro, Dubai Internet City was represented at the press conference panel by Majed Al Suwaidi, Director of Sales.

The press conference highlighted social changes including globalization and technology advance as core factors to rapid growth of the ICT market.
According to an IDC survey, strategic thinking is an important skill for the new CIO in which the CIO-Summit will hold sessions on how best to apply business strategies to IT acquisition and how to use IT to further business development.

Hosting the majority of the Fortune 500 companies in the world from over 1000 specialized sectors, Dubai Internet City is also the strategic ICT Partner of the IDC Middle East CIO Summit 2008.
