Malek Al Malek to Present Keynote Address on Significance of Region’s ICT Cluster

Dubai Internet City announced it will be the strategic sponsor for GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2009, the region’s largest industry event, for the ninth consecutive year.

To be held from 18-22 October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, the GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK will showcase global brands, multinational corporations and technology leaders that will converge in Dubai for a week of product launches and key industry meetings. The event will also offer opportunities for networking and building discerning partnerships with industry professionals.

Dubai Internet City stand will cater to the following key partners: Yahoo Maktoob, Qualcomm, Sony Ericsson, Dubai Outsource Zone and AJ Management Consultants - Adobe at its pavilion located on Concourse 2, between Exhibition Hall 8 and the Sheikh Maktoum Hall.

Malek Sultan Al Malek, Executive Director of Dubai Internet City, said: “The year 2009 has so far proved to be a real test of strength for business models in the technology industry that have remained resilient. The Middle East has set an example for growth momentum in the technology sector as reflected by the interest shown by global brands in regional companies.

Al Malek will deliver a keynote presentation/address on ‘The significance of the ICT cluster in the region’ on the third day as part of the daily panel discussions at the global conference.

Trade visitors will also be able to participate in the activities at the gaming section and win premium giveaways.

The pavilion will also host AJ Management Consulting, the region’s leading management consulting firm, featuring a range of cutting-edge technologies including the Web 2.0 Rich Internet Applications (RIA), an advanced software that integrates the market place with sophisticated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) features delivered online. AJ Consulting will also showcase the technology on the revamped Dubai Internet City web portal that will enable online users to engage sophisticated tools to enhance their experience.

Yahoo Maktoob, the largest Arab online community will also be at the DIC pavilion showcasing its services as a leading business news portal in the Middle East.
