Dubai Internet City Supports Broadband MEA 2012 for Fourth Consecutive Year

Event Expected to Gather Over 1,000 Decision Makers
Dubai Internet City today announced it will support Broadband MEA 2012, the region’s premier internet communications event for top-level executives and industry experts.
Scheduled to be held in Dubai between 25-27 March at the Westin Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina, the fourth edition of the event is expected to attract more than 70 speakers and host over 40 operator case studies. Prominent speakers from organisations such as Google, Al Jazeera and Universal Music will offer keynote addresses during the event, which is organised by Informa Telecoms & Media and registered a massive 76 per cent operator attendance in 2011.

Dubai Internet City Announces Expansion Plans of Region’s Leading Online Wedding Directory Yebab.com
E-commerce will witness an upward growth trend in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt with Internet retail sites touching US$1 billion sales in 2011 for the first time, according to industry analysts Euromonitor International. This evolution is due to the increasing internet user-base in these countries and more Arab shoppers moving to an online purchasing model, said senior executives from Dubai Internet City and Yebab.com, the region’s leading and the only online wedding directory in Arabic.

TECOM Investments, a member of Dubai Holding, and Dubai SME, an agency of the Department of Economic Development in Dubai mandated to develop the small and medium enterprises (SME) sector, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today with a view to encouraging entrepreneurship among UAE nationals and furthering the sector’s contribution to the country’s economy.
