APTEC Establishes Group Headquarters at Dubai Internet City

APTEC Holdings, the leading regional provider of IT and telecom products, solutions and services, today announced the opening of its new headquarters in Dubai Internet City (DIC).

The new headquarters will consolidate the operations of its four subsidiaries: APTEC Distribution, a distributor of computing and telephony products; Advanced Technology Services (ATS), an IT security consulting and services company; APTEC Kiosk Services (AKS), a provider of self-service kiosk solutions; and Brightec, APTEC's joint venture with Brightstar Corp., a global leader in wireless distribution and supply chain solutions.

The new base will be located in a custom-built facility in the heart of Dubai Internet City . Dr. Ali Baghdadi, CEO and President, APTEC Holdings said: "Establishing in DIC is a strategic move that enables us to be part of a vibrant community of global and regional ICT companies. The Dubai Internet City community is rich with channel development opportunities and offers the ideal platform for expanding our growth both in the Middle East and the other markets we target.”

APTEC Holdings, which opened its Dubai subsidiary nine years ago, is a wholesale distributor of products of leading computing and telecom brands in the Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Central Asia. Global brands, whose products it distributes include Acer, D-Link, IBM, Lenovo, HP, 3Com, 3M, Computer Associates, Microsoft, Symantec, McAfee, BenQ, Logitech, Sun Microsystems, Lexmark and Avaya. The company has m ore than 400 employees in 40 countries across the region. Prior to the establishment of the new headquarters in DIC, the group's subsidiaries operated out of different locations in Dubai .

“Our Dubai Internet City base helps us strengthen our relationships with our vendors, many of whom are based in the DIC community,” said Bahaa Salah, General Manager for APTEC Distribution and Regional Sales Director for APTEC Holdings. “By leveraging Dubai Internet City 's business support services, we will also be able to serve our customers better.”

APTEC has an extensive distribution network in the region supported by six warehousing facilities in the UAE, Saudi Arabia , Egypt , Kuwait , Lebanon and Turkey . As early as 1997, APTEC established a logistics centre in Dubai 's Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZ) to serve its customers in the Gulf and Africa . Currently, the company has partnerships with more than 5000 resellers in more than 70 countries.
