Dear Business Partners,

The year 2011 set a vibrant note for Dubai Internet City (DIC) and the ICT industry as a whole. Building upon the optimism, the ICT market in the Middle East promises to remain buoyant in 2012.
Analysts in the region have also predicted positive trends anticipating companies to increase their ICT spend on new technologies for ensuring the long term efficiency of the business.
According to the World Economic Forum’s Networked Readiness Index, the region’s ICT sector has a potential to reach US$173 billion by 2015 from US$81 billion in 2010.
Moving forward in 2012, supporting entrepreneurs and growth of the SME sector in the region is one of our primary goals. For DIC, the launch of the ‘Majid Bin Mohammed Innovation Center in5’ will take centerstage during this year.
Towards this end, TECOM has partnered with Dubai SME to encourage entrepreneurship among UAE nationals and further the sector’s contribution to the country’s economy. As a leading ICT cluster, we seek to create opportunities that allow small businesses to gain insight and increase industry knowledge as part of the TECOM ecosystem.
Reflecting this mandate, we will continue to serve as a catalyst for technological advancement, innovation and creativity, and further drive our status as the most lucrative technology-orientated community in the region.
Building upon our accomplishments that we regard as motivating factors, we have set ambitious goals for ourselves as we move towards achieving our key business objectives. As part of the journey, we will continue to draw upon your contribution to our success.
I hope you find the first edition of ‘The Circuit’ for 2012 informative and engaging.
Until the next issue, I wish everyone a fulfilling association with Dubai Internet City.
Best Regards,
Malek Al Malek
